DESIIRE is a Congo Born, Toronto based singer songwriter who delivers a unique blend of R&B, Afro, Electronic & Hip Hop to create music that is filled with hypnotic instrumentals and vocal moody simplicity. Influenced by soul contemporaries and pioneer African artists, DESIIRE has become known for his gospel inpired vocals, afro infused, rap staccato cadences and engaging story-telling songwriting.
Over the past 3 years, he has been featured in Billboard, The Fader, AFroPunk, Rolling Stones, Noisey Vice, Exclaim, MTV, SPIN, ET Canada, BlogTO as well as graced the stage at festivals such as Manifesto, Pop Montreal, Luminato, Canadian Music Week, Toronto/ Montreal Pride opening and playing alongside acts like Ari Lennox, Haiviah Mighty, Clairmont The Second and more.
This year has also seen DESIIRE expanding his talents behind the scenes on CBC & HULU's director RT network TV show " Utopia Falls " in which he serves as the series vocal producer working alongside hit producer Boi 1Da. His original has been featured on television shows such as Kim's Convenience ( CBC/Netflix ), Nurses ( Global ), Diggstown ( CBC ) and this year's Canadian Screen Awards.
He was one of the faces of the #StrongerTogether national telethon featuring Celine Dion, Shania Twain. Sarah Mclaughan and as one of the lead voices in the historic all-canadian #ArtistsCan charity collaboration " Lean On Me " alongside Justin Bieber, Avril Lavigne, Bryan Adams, Michael Buble, Fefe Dobson amongst others.
He continues 2020 with joining Canadian Queer artists, Charlotte Day Wilson and Lido Pimienta in Spotify's global official Pride campaign "Unlike Any Other ". This fall will see DESIIRE, partner with national retailer Hudson's Bay for a performance series and a sponsored partnership with international fashion brand Topshop.
